Come “Down under “ for a week of blind golf-Preliminary Notice
In September, Blind Golf Australia and Western Australian Blind Golf Association are staging the ISPS HANDA Australian Open Blind Golf Championships and the WA Open in Perth , Western Australia . Why not come on down and join us? . Make a holiday of your trip and see Western Australia at the same time. Perth has a Mediterranean type climate and whilst September is the start of spring in Australia the average temperatures in September in Perth are about 10C over night to 20C during the day. Take some extra time – take a cruise on the Swan River, visit historic Fremantle, or if more adventurous visit the winegrowing region of Margaret River or venture even further afield to the old whaling town of Albany , drive back along the south coast of WA ( there is even a golf course at Septembera , sand greens , something different! ) And if you want more golf, WA has some magnificent golf courses both south and north of Perth –all these courses can be done in a day.
The intended programme is for the WA Open to be played on Monday September 9, and Tuesday 10 a rest or practice day on Wednesday September 11 with the ISPS HANDA Australian Blind Golf Open to be played on Thursday /Friday September 12/13. The WA Open will be played as a stableford event at Collier Park Golf Course , 6kms from Perth CBD –Collier Park is a 27 hole complex , the course we expect to play is about 6000m with a par of 72.TheISPS HANDA Australian Open, a stroke event, will be played at Wembley Golf Course also about 6km from Perth’s CBD. Wembley is a 36 hole complex. The “Old” course we expect to play was built in 1932, 5680m with a par of 72. Our WA members play both courses regularly . Both courses are relatively flat
Accommodation has been arranged at The Ibis perth which is in Murray Street Perth. It is situated about 5 minutes’ walk from the Perth ferry terminal where ferries can take you on the Swan river to Fremantle. Transport will be provided from/to the ibis perth to both courses on competition or practice days.

2019 NSW BLIND GOLF OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

TUESDAY 12TH & WEDNESDAY 13TH NOVEMBER, 2019

Dear Golfers,

If you have a certified International Blind Golf Handicap and Eyesight Category, Blind Golf NSWwould like to invite you to play in 2019 NSW Blind Golf Open Championship to be played at LiverpoolGolf Club, Hollywood Drive, Lansvale on Tuesday 12 & Wednesday 13 November, 2019. Please note that this event is a 36 hole stroke playevent however a 36 hole stableford event may be included provided there is a minimum of 4 players.

Accommodation for this event will be at the Holiday Inn Warwick Farm, 355 Hume Highway Warwick Farm (approx. 28km from Sydney Airport). Accommodation has been pre-booked by Blind Golf NSW and includes double, twin and single room options. The accommodation will be at the player’s/guide/caddy’s own expense. The Holiday Inn Warwick Farm is a large hotel with a restraint and bar however next door is the Warwick Hotel with a bistro and sports bar which offers a large variety of dinning, bar and entertainment options.

The entry fee for the 2019 NSW Blind Golf OpenChampionship is $200.00. This entry fee covers on playing days Green Fees, Motorized Golf Carts,Lunches for players and guides/caddy’s, transportto and from the golf course and the hotel and the Trophy Presentation Function at Liverpool Golf Club(cocktail/snack/finger food).

The event program is as follows:

Monday 11th November, 2019 Arrival

Tuesday 12th November, 20192019 NSW Open Round 1

Wednesday 13th November, 20192019 NSW Open Round 2 & Trophy Presentation

Thursday 14th November, 2019Departure

Transport will be provided between the Holiday Innand golf club each playing day and if there is enough interest BGNSW will provide transport from Sydney Airport to the hotel on Monday 11 November departing the airport at approximately 2pm and return from the hotel to the airport on Thursday 14 November departing the hotel at approximately 9:30am.
